Distributed flexibility
The Energy White Paper, Powering our Net Zero Future (CP 337), published in December 2020 by HM Government, defines distributed flexibility as: ‘Technologies that can deliver flexibility that are connected to the distribution network across the country.’
Where flexibility is: ‘The ability to change generation and/or demand in response to an external signal (e.g. price or contract terms). Flexibility enabling technologies include batteries, demand side response, interconnectors and fossil fuel generators.’
